Long Island City makes the cut for Amazon HQ2

Amazon has just announced that America’s fastest growing neighborhood, Long island City in New York, has made the cut as part of one of its 20 finalists for the company’s second headquarters, Amazon HQ2. As news broke, many in Long Island City were expressing delight that Amazon had selected “the city within a city” for strong consideration. Amazon plans to invest some 5 billion dollars as well as to create 50,000 jobs at the proposed headquarters.
